Curture, Heritage & Act | Burning Act @ Annexe Gallery, KL Central Market

On a breezing Saturday afternoon, after my acupuncture treatment at Tung Shin Hospital, we decided to have lunch at an old restaurant around KL Central Market which sell good chicken rice.

When we reach the shop lot around Central market..we realize the shop was closed for good..and hence we have to walk back to Petaling Street for the famous beef noodles :)

From there, we walk through KL Central Market to Petaling Street. To my surprise, I see some art shops at the back entrance of KL Central Market.  Been a person used to walk around Petaling Street during her Uni time..I was wondering why I never been to this place? Is this place new?

After a few searches, apparently this place is called Annexe Gallery, and was launched in January 2007 as a centre for contemporary arts (now I know why I never been to this place...have not been walking around KL after I graduated in 2005, thanks to the busy working life :( ).

There are lots of events on-going in Annexe Gallery. For more information about Annexe Gallery, you can refer to http://www.annexegallery.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=45&Itemid=54

By referring to the official website, there are Akasia Art Galley, APL Leader Potrait Artist, Art House Galley..and etc in Annexe Gallery (more information refer to http://centralmarket.com.my/directory.php?id=14). These gallery/art corner offer place to ~~ do your portrait/unique caricature, to purchase portrait art (specially on political leaders),  explore extensive collection of art paintings, batik paintings, painting depicting landscapes or abstract forms and crafts, and a lot more.

Below some pictures I snapped during my "rush" tour there (we were so hungry~~).

you can buy this and D.I.Y your batik painting~~

After I browsed through the website..and I can't find a shop which offering something which I find it very interesting ~~ BURNING ACT!

What is Burning Act? The question we asked the owner of the art gallery, and answer is ~~~ a work that he uses fire to burn an image on some wood products (which I think is some kind of plywood). And according to the owner, he is the only one doing this in Malaysia.

We find this really interesting, so we ask for price ~~ around RM150 for self-portrait and RM200+ for couple portrait (please ask the owner for price if you are interested..I am a super forgetful person...lol). The image could be burned according to your "current face" or image on a picture and etc. Maybe I could ask him to burn my wedding picture in future :D

And, yeah, we were suppose to go for the famous beef noodles.. and  below what we had at Sun Gao Yu Beef Noodles (新九如牛肉面)...yummy.

The rice is juicy, non-sticky to the pot
There is no rice stick to he claypot at all, even the slightly burned rice was non-sticky and taste super nice, only then I understand why old people say the burned claypot rice taste good!!

Another famous dish is Claypot Lap Mei Rice, however we had been told that lap mei had sold off during the last visit, hence I have no chance to try yet. If I could remember, I shall go there again early 2014 to try that out.

Massage @ The Asia Spa

Was not working these few days, however was still busy to sort out my personal stuffs and attending courses which I was supposed to attend but didn't due to busy working for the first half of 2013..

Due to the bad posture and late working hour in front of laptop, I am having this bad shoulder pain..and that get worst after changed to a smaller laptop since April 2013..

Taking this opportunity, I had decided to utilise the massage voucher (RM100+ for 2 hours massage instead of normal price of RM300) that I bought from a beauty fair held in KLCC convention center few months back from The Asia Spa.

Called to the center, and found out that the center will be opened till late night, hence made an appointment at 6pm and depart to Jalan Yap Kwan Seng..hooray!!

After 30 minutes, I reach the center which located in the same building with Old Town at Jalan Yap kwan Seng.

Entrance
After entering the center, a catalogue was given to me and I had choosen a Balinese Package which includes a balinese massage and body scrub for 2 hours ;)

Below some pictures of the corridor to the room, and the room:

The massure was from Indonesia..i guess, anyway the service is professional. This is the first time I tried balinese massage, is different with chinese, thai and malay massage. Compared to chinese which emphasise on points, thai with the leg, arm, body twist, malay on relaxing the muscle (based on my experience only...hehe), I feel that balinese style emphasising on the muscle and bone.

Scrub was done after massage, and after that shower could be taken in the bathroom in the room. Rainshower is available together with a jacuzzi bathtub.
